In Taiwanese colloquial language, QQ refers to a chewy texture, while in digital contexts it functions as an emoticon symbolizing teary eyes. Based on this interplay between linguistic transfer and visual doubleness, the work resulted in jelly-like sculptures and eyeglass frames resembling the form of the letter Q. These works highlight the overlap of letters, expressions, sensations, and structures within a single sign. QQ functions as a site where tactile perception, affect, and visual signs intersect. The materiality of speech, the rhythm of utterance, and the contour of signs are translated into the elasticity of jelly and the shape of eyeglasses.
